For those of you who aren't in the know, there's a reason to celebrate, act and talk like a pirate on September 19. If you haven't guessed, International Talk like a Pirate Day lands on that day! And for those of us who can't just let a special day like that go by without throwing a special bash full of booty that even Davey Jones would be proud of, fear not! Even the driest landlubber can celebrate this fine, scurvy loving holiday by hosting a party at home.
Sticking with the theme of "piracy" is important when decorating for this type of party. As such, lighting will play an important role for your décor. Think of old pirate ships, old haunts where pirates and wenches could be found, bars and the like. Decorating after the Captain's Quarters of any old pirate ship can be a good theme to play off of. Vintage, traditional looking chandeliers filled with gemstones and candelabras are always ideal as lighting centerpieces for any room, and they sure evoke a pirate ambience. Keep the lighting of your chandelier dim so that your party has that mysterious, old ship feel. And for extra kicks, tie a rope by your chandelier and anchor the end to a latch on the wall; don't attach the rope literally to the chandelier. The whole purpose is to make it look like you could untie the rope and swing from it as the chandelier drops.
If you're looking to give your home a shipping dock setting, add some torch lights along the walls of hallways and around your living room and yard. Wall sconces with torch-styled lamps will work well, especially if you have amber colored diffusers. Table lamps are also another great way to achieve that pirate feel, as long as you stick with vintage inspired lamps and silk shades. More brownie points to you if you can find a terribly designed lamp with skeleton bones or skulls on the base and neck of the lamp!
Once you've got your lighting down, you're ready to start assembling your fellow pirates and wenches for a nightlong party full of booty and ale. Arrggghhh, enjoy, me matey!!

The piano holds a very special place in the hearts of all. The piano is widely used in western music for solo performance, chamber music, and accompaniment. It is also very popular as an aid to composing and rehearsal. Although not portable and often expensive, the piano's versatility and ubiquity has made it among the most familiar of musical instruments.
The piano is significant in Western classical music, jazz, film, television, and most other complex western musical genres. It has also found its way into popular music for the masses. Since a large number of composers are proficient pianists — and because the piano keyboard offers an easy means of complex melodic and harmonic interplay — the piano is often used as a tool for composition.

Crystal And Porcelain Masterpieces By Makers You’ve Probably Never Heard Of
Capodimonte porcelain has actually been around for quite a long time. The 1740's to be exact. It started out in Naples and was under explicit orders from the King of Italy to produce porcelain superior to the famous Meissen factory in Germany. It did for a while but then the factory was moved to Spain; it burned down; and later it was restarted in Italy only to be destroyed again during the French invasion of 1798.
In the period of its glory as a royal business it turned out porcelains of such gorgeous quality that they were used only by Royal families because of the high cost of production. After it was looted and destroyed during the French invasion, it was again rebuilt. But during the French interregnum in Italy its production was halted and porcelain production was sold to a group of local businessmen. It's fate is as dull as the years of its existence, apart from saying it produced magnificent porcelain. It more or less disappeared from view for a while.
Fortunately, it was resuscitated by some local businessmen who wanted to keep the Capodimonte tradition alive. A few factories in Italy still create these masterpieces of another day as well as our own time - a variety of home decor items ranging from stunning candlestick holders to breathtaking chandeliers with lots of flowers, birds, and animals in between.
Today, Capodimonte is quite simply the finest and most perfect grade of Italian artistic pottery, one that is cherished for its craftsmanship and attention to detail. And that goes for its subsidiaries discussed in the following paragraphs.
The new outfit, along with V. Sabadin and A. Santini, under the Capodimonte imprimatur is Cevik Glass and Porcelain. The products of each of these companies are all registered and stamped to protect the public against fraud. A buyer always knows that he or she is purchasing an authentic piece.
Cevik was established in Vicenza, Italy by Scaggiari Maurizio in 1971. The Cevik Company in Italy produces hand-crafted and hand-blown glass and crystal. Crystal, of course, is the elite of all glass. It has the uniqueness of letting the light show all of its glorious brilliance. Each individual piece of Cevik crystal is then fully integrated with exquisite porcelain to produce an item of sheer artistic beauty. These days the company concentrates on crystal vases. These are among the finest glass and porcelain vases available anywhere. So fine in fact that you will be hard pressed to find them for sale in the United States or in Europe. When you acquire a Cevik piece as a gift or to occupy a special place in your own home, You are getting an item of matchless beauty.
If your preference is for figurines, look closely at the A. Santini collection. Amilcare Santini founded the company near Florence in 1910 after a long apprenticeship to a famous sculptor of his day. Working at first in clay which Santini used to mold statues of great beauty, he attended the university in Florence where he was instrumental in developing the process of combining marble, alabaster, and resin. This material was poured into molds made by Santini and allowed to harden to room temperature; then the figure was taken out and completely finished using the very old techniques and styles known to the great Italian masters of marble.
Amilcare Santini died in 1975 and the company has since been run in the Santini tradition by succeeding generations of the Santini family. The great Amilcare Santini tradition of producing exquisite objets d'art continues through four renowned sculptors who are active in the company. Each pursues a different specialty: classical and religious figurines, handpainted figurines and animals, Art Deco and nude figures, and creches and holy images. In addition they reproduce original pieces by Amilcare Santini. Altogether they continue to be known for quality, beauty, and craftsmanship under the rubric of A. Santini.
Santini sculptures represent some of the most prestigious museum lines of quality in the world.
Except that he was a great sculptor, little else of note can be said of Vittorio Sabadin. Exquisite, delightful, whimsical, humorous - all of these are words that come to mind when you talk about his pieces. His ladies, dancers, clowns, and animals speak to the multifarious nature of his creative mind. It's easy to understand why people simply fall in love with his little pieces. They bring out the humanity in us all.

Basic Bedroom Lighting Considerations
When all is said and done and the day’s challenges are at an end, it’s time to retreat to an area of your home that will provide peace, a time for reflection, a time to relax and a time to be away from the stresses that are a normal part of life.
This area can also be a place to enjoy the company of a loved one and to experience all the joy of intimacy and closeness.
I’m talking about the bedroom. Granted, there are other areas in the home that can provide many of these benefits, but the bedroom has always been the traditional place to find the conditions that provide days end peace and comfort. Before considering the types of lighting typically used in the bedroom, keep in mind that the color of the walls and the ceiling will affect the type and the intensity of the lighting that you need to use. Brightly colored walls and ceilings require considerably less light than do bedrooms that are painted with darker colors.
Lighting is often an underestimated factor in determining how we feel and how we function physiologically and on an unconscious level to say nothing of its influence on our emotions.
The old saying that there are different strokes for different folks holds true when it comes to bedroom lighting. Some couples see the bedroom as a place to enjoy intimacy and sleep while other individuals and couples see it as a multi functional room where they can talk, read, watch television or engage in hobbies. Whatever purposes the bedroom area serves, there is lighting that meets these needs.
If reading is a common activity, task lighting should be a major consideration and the needs of your partner who may not share your passion for reading should be a significant factor. Matching bedside tables and lights provide a nice decorative and functional balance. The shade level should be lower than your head level to avoid glare and to reduce disturbing your partner. Consider using opaque shades because they naturally dim the light and tend to reduce the light bleeding over on your partner’s side of the bed. Each reading light should have its own on-off switch and if possible, a dimmer.
Each reading light should be positioned behind the reader to eliminate shadows and should be adjusted so that they shine away from your partner. Swing-arm lights are also another option to consider.
Another option is to install recessed down lights at the head of the bed with separate controls that will permit one person to sleep while the other person reads. Make sure that the controls for the lighting near the bed are within easy reach so that they can be adjusted or turned off without having to get out of bed. If practical, all other lighting in the bedroom should be controllable by switches near the bed so that complete darkness, which most experts indicate is conducive to a good night’s sleep, can be achieved by switches near the bed.
Most people dress in the bedroom and the dressing table should have lights placed on either side of the mirror to eliminate shadowing the face. An adjustable mirror that provides magnification can be used to make applying makeup easier and to reduce the amount of light that is needed.
If you have plants or a decorative tree in your bedroom you can place a halogen floor-mounted fixture that can be adjusted to filter light through the plants that will create interesting and romantic lighting on the walls and/or the ceiling.
Indirect lighting can also be included particularly if you watch TV in the bedroom. Recessed lights and/or track lighting can provide the indirect lighting necessary to offset the glare of the TV while also providing some illumination to the wall area.
A ceiling fan with or without lights can also be used to adjust the temperature in the bedroom as well as providing a romantic touch. Be sure to have a dimmer control if you have a lighted ceiling fan.
In a bedroom used for a variety of purposes, it’s important to make this lighting layered to provide lighting that doesn’t overlap too much. This may involve a little extra work because this layered lighting may need to be on separate circuits. For example, task lighting by a study area should be switched separately as should indirect lighting that is used to wash a wall or highlight a piece or pieces of art work.
Remember, bedroom lighting should always be understated and provide a sense of romance and promote relaxation. Just about all the lighting should be controlled by dimmer switches.
The types of lighting fixtures typically used in the bedroom include: ceiling fixtures, ceiling fans with lights, chandeliers or pendants, track lighting, recessed down lights and wall sconces.
Careful planning your lighting plan for the bedroom is a very important use of your time.

Let There Be Light!
With the right home lighting, any boring corner can glow, every nook can look splendid or can simply add a different aura to any room. Forget the blinds, new slipcovers and carpet. If you want instant makeover for your home, then change of lighting is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to do that.
In planning for your dream house, you don’t want to leave anything to chance, do you? Every furniture, every corner, every color, every detail must be in sync with the rest of the house. And don’t forget to include ideas for interior and exterior lighting. For what good a beautiful house is if it doesn’t have adequate lighting?
The intensity of lighting depends on every room’s identity. The look is very personal. Obviously one corner will be more illuminated than the next. The dining room can benefit from sufficient lighting while bedrooms can have softer lights for it to be conducive to sound sleep and relaxation. Living room can have a combination of the bright lights, mini spotlights even. Elegant lamps can add accents to the corners.
Whether you want simple fluorescent lights or fancy a chandelier on your high ceiling, you need professional electrical service. It is an important requirement for both residential and commercial establishments. Residential electrical needs depend on the appliances, tools and gadgets that you decide to choose for the house. Do you want lamps that exudes soft glow? You want chandeliers that brighten up every corner of the living room? Country home lighting requires a different approach as compared with city living. Exterior lights have different specifications than the ones indoors.
Custom lighting is not at all expensive. In the long run, you may even save a hefty amount because you will be buying just the ones that you will use.
Being conscious with electrical consumption will also affect the choice of lighting materials. Check out with your home store for information on appliances and lighting types that are not budget friendly. Wasting precious energy is not a cool thing to do. Always think environment-friendly lights even though you’re just planning on using just one or two for the backyard.
Don’t get fooled by beauty. Check out product efficiency before purchasing. Some lamps are beautiful but consume too much power while others are energy efficient and consumer friendly. Generally speaking, accents on your home must be considered in accordance with the type of lifestyle that you’re leading.
To maintain good performance of lighting facilities, here are some tips:
· Clean lighting facilities regularly. This way lamps and bulbs will always give maximum brightness and you wouldn’t need to install more just to achieve the desired effect.
· Consider purchasing newer models available in the market. More and more environment friendly products are up for grabs at a fraction of a price.

The Basics Of House Painting
Your house is your lifetime asset. And it’s a matter of time when you take a notice that your house needs renovation – not because it’s getting old, but because you feel the need of vibrant colors in your house.
Repainting your house is a tricky business. Some rely on painting companies to do the job for you. Hiring the house painting service may also cost you. But if you are planning to paint it yourself, you might want to consider the basics; and consider the time and effort you will put on painting your house.
PAINT
There are many types of paint available today, some giving different surface finishes, others are designed for a particular application. Choosing the correct paint type may appear to be confusing at first, but once you have projected which theme you would like to paint your house and sorted out which job and what finishes you want, the choice is rather easy.
There are two bases of paint for your house: solvent-based (oil or alkyd) and water-based (latex). Oil-based paints dry slow – usually taking up to 24 hours. The best clean up for an oil-based paint is turpentine or paint thinner. Latex paints’ advantage is that it dries relatively fast, but it is not desirable in hot weather or direct sunshine. The best clean up for latex paints requires just soap and water. So if you are painting the inside of your house, it is recommended to use water-based paints, while solvent-based paints are suggested for painting the exterior of your house.
There are different types of paints that is either water-based or solvent-based that produces different finishes that is measured by its sheen factor. “Sheen” is a term used to describe the degree of light reflection the paint has. Lesser sheen for an interior or exterior paint means it has lesser stain resistance.
· A Gloss paint is easy to clean and resists scuffs better. This is ideal for rooms that are constantly used. Most gloss paints are best recommended to use on woodworks, baseboards, kitchen and bathroom walls, doorjambs, and window casings. The downside of using gloss paints, however, is the noticeable imperfections in the wall surface.
· A High-gloss paint is highly reflective and works well for highlighting details, such as trim and decorative molding. They are also the best choice for doors and cabinet – or any area that sees a high volume of abuse.
· Semi-gloss paints are very similar to gloss plaints except it has lesser sheen. Semi-gloss is also suitable for rooms with high humidity (best used for children’s room) and can be used for trim works and casings. These paints ensure maximum durability.
· Eggshell paints provide a smooth and low-sheen finish. Paints that are smooth and low-sheen that is ideal for your living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and dens. It is washable and ideal for bedrooms, hallways, home offices and family rooms.
· Satin paints offer a good combination of easy-clean and moderate sheen. These paints go a step above eggshell in scrubbing ability. They perform and look great in just about any room.
· Flat paints (matte paints) are non-reflective and always a good choice for large walls and ceilings. Flat paints hides imperfections on wall surfaces and spatters well during application. Flat paints are the best choice for vinyl and aluminum siding that is scratched or dented because it hides imperfections and spatters less when applied. These paints are ideal for low-traffic areas such as formal dining rooms and master bedrooms.
Special paints have been innovated from different consumer insights and brilliant paint technology that allows specific paints for specific needs.
· Ceiling flats are designed specially for ceilings. These are usually extra spatter-resistant.
· Primer paints may be oil- or water-based and are used to seal unpainted surfaces to prevent covering coats of paint soaking in. The appropriate type of primer should be used for the surface being painted - wood, metal, plaster or tiles. There are some 'all purpose primers' available which are designed for two or more of these surfaces.
· Anti-condensation paints are used for rooms with humid conditions such as kitchen and bathrooms. This paint is usually formulated to prevent condensation and often includes fungicide.
· Fire-retardant paints do not resist fires completely but its fire-resistance formulation prevents it from fire in spreading fast.
It is also important that before painting your room, you use a primer. A primer will help paint adhere to the surface by providing a uniform appearance. It is a must to use a primer if you are painting over new wood, bare wood, drywall, or repainting over existing bright or dark colors.
But before doing this, you have to know the condition of the surface you wanted to paint. Regardless of whether the base coat is oil or latex, you must dull glossy paint by sanding or de-glossing it with a chemical de-glossing product. If you don't dull glossy paint, the second coat will streak and not stick to the base coat when drying.
INTERIOR PAINTING
If you want to alter your room's ambience, painting it is a great option. When interior painting, use paints that are quicker to dry and does not have a strong odor that lingers around where your kids can smell it.
Painting the interior of your house requires a thorough estimation, visualization and preparation. When you have chosen your theme for your rooms and have bought the job materials you need (paints, paint brushes and rollers, extension handles, paint tray, paint stirrer, drop clothes, step ladder, painter's tape, etc.), you simply follow these interior house painting tips:
BEFORE AND DURING HOUSE PAINTING
· Always provide adequate ventilation when painting inside your house. If you cannot get enough ventilation in the work area, use a respirator or a mask.
· Keep paint containers or solvent containers closed when not in use.
· Keep paint products out of the reach of children.
· Avoid direct contact with skin.
· Always read packaging (label) instructions.
SURFACE PREPARATION TIPS
· Remove as much as furniture as possible from the room or group the heavier fixtures and the delicate ones together and cover them with a drop cloth.

· Paint trim first, including edging around the ceiling, molding, and trim.
WALL PAINTING TIPS

WOODWORK
· Check woodwork for damage. if there is one, patch it with a wood filler, dry it overnight and sand it for any rough spots and apply a sealer before painting.
· If you'll be using the same paint on the walls and woodwork, paint the woodwork as you come to it. If it is another color of higher in gloss, wait until the walls are done.
· Paint double-hung windows from the wood between the panes then outward. On casement windows, us the same technique, but keep the windows slightly open until the paint dries.
· For panel doors, paint the decorative molded edges first, then the individual panels. Paint from the center out. When the panels are completed, paint the vertical and horizontal flat panels.
· Use a painter's tape or painter's shield to keep paint off windowpanes. Do not use a masking tape or a duct tape. Using a painter's tape or painter's shield allows you to keep areas covered for up to 3 days.

· Use a razor-blade scraper or a putty knife to chip off bigger paint droplets that have dried.
· Use a scraper to trim around windowpanes.
· Wash and dry paintbrushes and rollers. Store them according to the brand's recommendation not all paintbrushes have the same type of bristles nor the rollers have the same material.
· Clean the paint from the rim of the can. Tap container lids tight with a hammer and block of wood.
· Store solvent-based paint cans upside down to prevent a skin from forming.
· Store your paints in normal or room temperature. Never put the paints in extreme hot or cold rooms.
· Each states in the U.S. or every community/ county differs on paint can disposal methods. Check your local environmental, health, and safety laws.
EXTERIOR PAINTING
In buying paints that you are going to use for your exterior house, you have to pick a brand that has essential characteristics: hiding power, color retention, chalk-resistance, and blister resistance.
Hiding power comes from the paint's pigment and is affected by the manner and thickness of the application. Color retention is the ability to maintain its original color during exposure to sunlight, etc. Chalking resistance prevents the white chalky powder from forming on the surface and lightening the color of the paint. Chalking occur over a period of time. Blister resistance keeps excessive moisture from coming through the substrate and affecting the paint layer. Tip: if paint is applied over a damp or wet surface, blistering is imminent.
Painting the exterior of your house requires a thorough estimation, visualization and preparation. When you have chosen your theme for your rooms and have bought the job materials you need.
You will need any of these tools in painting your exterior: caulk, sandpaper, rags and/or paper towels, painter’s tape, garden hose, power washer, or hose brush attachment, sponges & buckets for wash water, spray nozzle, stepladder, extension ladder, paint scraper, wire brush, putty knives, heat gun, rotary paint removing tool and electric drill, caulk gun, sanding block, and work gloves.
When you have all the tools at hand, examine your exterior. You might find exterior painting problems, which could be any of the following: alligatoring, blistering, chalking, chalk run down, crackling, dirt pickup, efflorescence, fading, frosting, lapping, mildew, nailhead rusting, paint incompatibility, peeling, poor alkali resistance, poor adhesion, poor gloss retention, surfacent leaching, staining, vinyl siding wrap, wax bleed, or wrinkling.
If you already know what your house exterior’s problem is or just for repainting it, simply follow some of these tips. You can also refer to INTERIOR PAINTING for brush or roller strokes, etc.:
· Start by thoroughly cleaning the outside of your home. Start at the top and work your way down the sides of the house. If your siding has areas of mold, mildew or discoloration, wash it with an anti-fungal cleaner.
· Mask off areas that are not to be painted. You may want to place masking tape along the edge of house trim, and around window and door frames and trim, since this is likely to be painted in a different color or with a higher sheen paint. You can also tape newspaper or plastic drop cloth material over windows and doors, including sliding glass doors, to protect them from drips.
· Place plastic drop cloths over plants and shrubs, or where paint may drip on porches, roof sections, sidewalks, driveways or other surfaces.
House painting takes time, house painting costs a big chunk on your budget, but the end-result is always great.

Harvesting The Trends: Fall Home Decor
Are you bored with your current home decor? Do you need a break from all things neutral? A great way to put some pizzazz back into your home is to change your style to go along with the seasons.
This Fall features an eclectic mixture of color and texture trends. There are so many hot designs this season, that you can easily find one to suit your tastes.
At this time of year, you want your home to be a cozy space, full of warmth, so choose colors appropriately. The classic colors of Fall include rich chocolate brown, dark shades of green, hints of orange, and deep red. Purchasing accents in these colors is a great way to bring richness into your room without overwhelming it. Area rugs, pillows, and other accessories like dried flowers are just a few examples.
While the classics will always be in style, there are also some hot new trends for the season that can liven up your space. The first of these is Asian-inspired decor. Any accessories done with an Asian flair are very big this season, and can add an interesting dimension to your already existing decor.
Metallics are also hot this year. Candlesticks, picture frames, and even upholstery are coming in shimmery materials. Because metallics have such a strong visual impact, use them in moderation to add visual punch.
Other hot colors right now include black and white, which always looks crisp and modern. Deep red makes a wonderful accent color. And clear accessories are going to be very popular in the coming months.
Nature inspired furnishings and home fashions are very hot right now. Transforming refurbished materials into unique and practical furniture pieces is becoming a new art form. Choose environmentally friendly materials and stylish recycled items. Wrap your room in natural looking colors like rich brown, sage green, or cranberry. Your home will feel warm, inviting, and fresh at the same time.
Bring nature in with decorative trees, and line your vases with attractive stones. The idea is to continue inside what nature is doing outside.
The rococo style is making a big comeback this Fall as well. Rococo is an 18th century French movement that involves very ornate furniture and accessories, mirrors, sculptures, and wall hangings. It is over-the-top elegance. Today, beautiful wallpaper designs can be found in the rococo style, as well as chandeliers, and curtains. You can either use only a few rococo details, or plan an entire room around this period.
Before redecorating, remember that not all trends will work in your home. Keep in mind the age and architecture of your home, as well as key elements such as what type and color of flooring you have. Take a look at the unchangeable elements of your home before adding too many trendy colors and accessories.

One of the most popular trends in bathroom design nowadays is to go rustic. The look and feel of a country cottage is undeniably warm, inviting, comfortable and homey. To achieve this ambience, rustic bathroom lighting is utilized.
Rustic country décor tries to simulate the look of cottage style homes whether American, French or English. The rustic country look is typically described as simple, coarse, and unfinished but charming and very endearing, nonetheless. The look of rustic country cottages is achieved through the use of natural woods, rough finishes and aged surfaces. Because of this characteristic, rustic country cottages often have that quaint, comfortable and modest ambience. Dedicated homeowners who want a consistent rustic country motif in their house can continue the design into their bathrooms. The rustic country look can be achieved in the bathroom through the use of many architectural and structural details. The use of neutral or soft tones on the walls as well as antique looking cabinets or vanity can instantly add a rustic touch to any bathroom. Pedestal sinks, clawfoot tubs, and brass faucets also add to the country ambience.
As a finishing touch, the best thing you can do is to install rustic bathroom lighting. Characterized by warm yellow tones and subdued illumination, this type of lighting will surely add an authentic warm glow to your bathroom and imbue it with the relaxed and comfortable ambience of an old country home. Rustic lighting is usually decorated with natural items such as wood, pinecones, animal antlers and many more. There are also chandeliers made of wood.
Antique lamps made of brass and attached to the walls of your bathroom can easily add an elegant and quaint touch. You can install such lamps to complement other decorative elements in your bathroom such as brass faucets and bath tubs with claw feet. The possibilities are only limited by the imagination. You can purchase ready made rustic lighting. There are lighting fixtures readily available from home supply stores that simulate the look of country cottages. Some stores offer rustic bathroom lighting products that follow a certain rustic theme such as wagon wheel or antlers.
For truly authentic rustic bathroom lighting, you can also create your own lighting fixtures out of store-brought light bulbs combined with materials such as antique candle holders, wood, pine cones, and others. How To Spot A Fake Crystal Chandelier: 5 Tips
Crystal chandeliers have that magical ability to create the aura of elegance and warmth to wherever they hang. And since your homes' lighting is a fundamental ingredient, it makes sense to use it as a way of creating and augmenting the ambiance in whichever method you decide.
Well-arranged lighting will instinctively give life and dynamism to the reception rooms that you want.
Cleaning Tips
At first, it may seem scary to clean crystal chandeliers for a number of reasons. First, they are often placed high up on the ceiling. Second, the ornate design of the chandelier makes it a delicate fixture to clean properly. In properly cleaning a crystal chandelier, follow these steps:
- Set up alternative lighting. Ensure that you have another light source set up since you won’t be able to use you crystal chandeliers while cleaning them.
- Make sure the chandeliers power is turned off. If the crystal chandeliers are turned on, it can be dangerous for you.
- Cover the bulbs, for example with sandwich bags.
- Place a sheet below the crystal chandeliers to keep liquid from falling on your floor.
- Mix up a solution made up of one part isopropyl alcohol and three parts water. Spray the solution on, then allow your crystal chandeliers to drip dry. Take off the sandwich bags when you are done with drying the crystals.
How To Spot If the Crystals On the Chandelier Are Fake
Fake-crystal fixtures can be great in an apartment or early home because they're affordable. However, if you prefer to have the real crystal, how do you spot decent quality from the assortment of fakes and rip-offs sold out there?
1) What to look out for: Just like in buying diamonds, you spot for one which shows clarity, purity, a fine cut and good color. Look for an absence of flaws and no inclusions, bubbles or rough spots. The surface must feel smooth, and the crystal shouldn't have a gray or green cast.
2) The lead content of crystal doesn't indicate how fine it is. Some manufacturers often add lead to glass to make it softer and more malleable, and, because of the way lead interacts with light, it adds an excellent prismatic, shimmering effect.
3) All crystal is glass. Distinguishing between good and fine crystal can be tough. Schonbek Crystals sells many of its fixtures in two grades: Spectra, a nice but lower-grade crystal, and Strass, the finest. Spectra costs half as much. However, when they're both hanging from a ceiling, the look is almost indistinguishable," a crystal chandelier analyst muses. Check crystal quality from the manufacturer, or ask for advice from reputable home décor dealers.
4) All crystal starts as a liquid poured into a mold, and then it's polished either by hand, machine or fire. Fire-polished crystal, which are also called molded, is the cheapest. The facets on the glass aren't as crisp, because fire molds by melting. Hand and precision-machine cutting creates crisper facets. Swarovski crystal, considered the finest worldwide, is machine-cut.
5) When cleaning the crystal, don't spray a cleaning agent directly onto the fixture. Get some white cotton gloves or a soft cloth. Squirt glass cleaner on your gloved hand and wipe the crystal. Crystal dealer Schonbek Beers adds, clean it often. "If it's not clean, even the most brilliant crystal will look like plastic."

Fall Decorating Part Ii - Go Natural!
So you've decided your home needs a decorating boost for fall; one of the simplest and most dramatic ways to accomplish this is to bring the season, indoors. Nature has brought us so many gifts at this time of year, and nothing shouts "fall", like red apples, gourds or bright orange pumpkins.
Here are a few points to keep in mind when using nature in your decor:
Make certain that the plants you choose are fully ripe and dry. Leaves can be dried out by placing in a shallow container and pouring hot sand over top. You could leave them as is, or finish them by dipping them in a clear varnish.
Mature, undamaged gourds and pumpkins should be able to withstand an autumn season of indoor display.
Fall Leaves & Vines: Using artificial strands of leaves, wind them around railings, chandeliers or large bottles.
Gourds & Mini Pumpkins: These colorful fall favorites are full of character with their interesting shapes, colors and patterns. Chandelier Care: When It's Time To Clean Up
A crystal chandelier is a ceiling-mounted lighting mechanism that has two or more arms bearing lights. The current types of crystal chandeliers are often quite ornate fixtures, that contain dozens of lamps and a unique array of glass designs and shapes to disperse light in attractive or unique patterns.
The early versions of the crystal chandelier were used in churches and abbeys to effectively illuminate large rooms and halls. They generally took the form of a wooden cross with a number of spikes on which candles could be secured, the whole assembly being hoisted to a suitable height on a rope suspended from a hook once lit.
Development Of Crystal Chandeliers
In the middle ages, more complex and diverse forms of chandeliers based on ring or crown designs began to become popular decorative features, often seen in palaces and the homes of rich families and royalty. The lighting apparatus’ popularity as a status symbol continued to rise.
The beginning of the 18th century saw the development of ornate cast brass forms with long, curved arms and many candles could be found in the homes of most of the merchant classes. New technologies in glassmaking in the 18th century allowed for a more affordable production of materials like lead crystal. The light-dispersing properties of this highly refractive glass quickly became a popular addition to the form, leading to the Crystal Chandelier.
A number of more complex and elaborate designs of the chandelier continued to developed throughout the 18th and 19th centuries until the widespread introduction of first gas then electrical lighting phased out this traditional form of lighting's appeal.
Chandeliers Require Special Supports
Structurally, chandeliers may be much heavier than other ceiling light fixtures. Some may require special attachments to the ceiling and specially reinforced ceilings. Most however, do not require special supports and can be directly attached to the electrical box like any other fixture. Instead they specify that the electrical box be specially reinforced. This reinforcement can typically only be done at the time of the installation of the box. Subsequent installations of a chandelier may require extensive renovations
How To Efficiently Clean Crystal Chandeliers
- Remove all the bulbs and put them aside in a safe corner.
- Spread out a folded towel over the bottom of a sink or dishpan. Fill this half with medium hot water and add soap or detergent.
- Fill a large pan with clean hot water for rinsing the bulbs.
- Add a small amount of ammonia to this rinsing mixture for extra sparkle. Also pad this pan with a cloth or towel to keep fine glass from breaking.
- In washing, take the crystal drops and saucers off of the chandelier, one at a time, then wipe the frame or "arm" of the chandelier with a cloth soaked with the washing mixture.
- Wash the parts in the rinsing water mix. Rinse them with hot water and wipe them dry. Safely put them back right away to make sure that they go in the right places. If any pins or wires look weak or rusty, repalce them with new ones.
- Continue to take down, wash, and re-changing more parts until the whole piece is clean.
- Sponge off the bulbs. Rinse them, wipe them dry and install them back into their sockets again.

A Real Estate Investor's Guide To Basic Real Estate Principles
It is important for Real Estate Investors to have an understanding of some of the basics of real estate so you can be a more-informed investor.
In real estate, there are two categories of property, real and personal. Real property is defined as the land and whatever is attached to it, known as improvements. Personal property is everything that is not attached to land or buildings. This is often known as chattel.
A fixture is an item of personal property that has been converted to real property by permanently attaching it. Two examples include chandeliers and cabinets. When they were at the store, they were personal property. Once they are attached to the property, they become real property.
A listing agreement and an agreement of sale specify what is considered as a fixture. If you are purchasing a property, you should carefully inspect this clause to see what you are getting and what you are not getting.
When you purchase real property, you get what are known as a "bundle of rights". These are the rights of ownership. They include the right to occupy, to use, to allow others to use, to rent, to restrict, to construct buildings, to keep others off, to leave and abandon, to convey ownership and to encumber.
A freehold estate refers to an ownership interest in property for an undetermined period of time. It is a form of ownership that you get when you purchase a property. There are various types of freehold estates, with the most preferred type being called fee simple. It is the highest and most complete form of ownership possible. It gives you the full bundle of rights, including the right to pass your ownership interest on to your heirs when you die.
There are different forms of taking ownership to a property, and it is a good idea to understand each one and what it means. They are severalty, tenancy by the entirety, joint tenancy and tenancy in common.
Ownership of real property can also be held in a trust. A trust is a legal instrument that is used to protect family ownership interests. A trust has three parties, a trustor, a trustee and a beneficiary. The trustor conveys ownership of the property into the trust, which is then held by the trustee. Based on some event according to the terms of the trust the property is eventually conveyed to the beneficiary.
Title is the right of ownership of property. There are five basic kinds of title - naked possession, color of title, right of possession, good title and complete good title. The purchase of title insurance will insure a "good" title. A title company, or abstract company, will do a complete title search to discover if there are any "clouds on the title".
A deed is a written document that conveys title of real property to an owner. The person who gives or grants the deed is called the grantor. The person who receives the deed is the grantee.
There is a difference between title and deed. Title is the right of ownership of property. A deed is a written document that conveys title to the property. Title is a right. A deed is a document. The two most basic types of deeds are the quitclaim deed and the warranty deed.
A general warranty deed provides a guarantee of good title not only by the seller, but back through the chain of title through all the previous owners of the property. It provides the strongest title protection to the grantee, or buyer.
It is important that every Real Estate Owner and Investor understands these basic principles before purchasing Real Estate.

Lighting – One Of The Most Important Aspects Of Setting Up Your House
One of the major things while planning the layout and decor of your house is the lighting. You would like to have the best value for money without compromising on the smartness of your home. There is a large variety available in the market, from the high end exclusive chandeliers to the reasonable costing bed lamps that are essential for your night time reading.
So what are the things to be kept in mind while making up your mind?
Living room: The first thing to see is the size of your living room. Is it large sized and has vast open spaces, or does it have just about adequate space to place your leather recliners with little to spare? In the former case, you should best go for soft lighting to enhance the areas you want to accentuate.
Have a special painting you spent a fortune on? You would be absolutely right in placing it where it draws the maximum attention, enhanced greatly by a focus light. The focus light should be smart and should compliment the painting. Numerous varieties of chic focus lights that don’t cost the earth are available at any electric store.
Keep the rest of the lighting around it comparatively dim, so as not to take away from its sheen. While you are at it, pop into any furniture store to get some good ideas – see the way they display their wares.
In case of smaller rooms, bright lighting is what will make your room look larger than it is. A light focused on the ceiling would give it a higher and larger look. You could place a floor lamp in the corner to utilize the space. Combine the lamp with a corner stand to showcase some of the collection you made during your last holiday to the beach – just make sure you limit your display to reasonable sized pieces that do not look outlandish in the small space reserved for them.
Bedroom: The bedroom deserves special attention as it is the place where you spend your private time. You may not be showcasing it to the rest of the world, but the lighting has to be elegant and functional. It should fit in well with your needs of reading, studying, dressing etc, and at the same time be aesthetically appealing.
The lighting needs to complement your bedroom furniture. Keep a night lamp on the bedside tables for night time reading. Have a focus light just above your dressing mirror, to light up your face well while dressing.
Fluorescent lights are great in terms of whiteness of the light and energy efficiency, thus keeping your subsequent electricity bills low as well. Use tube-lights and CFLs to do the job for you.
The Attic: The attic is the place that has a variety of uses. It can be used purely as a store, or can be converted to a children study, or the art studio you always wanted to explore your talent with. In either case, there would be specific lighting requirements for each. You may choose bright colored lamp shades in case of a children room. Keep a switch close to the door for the children to use the lights without much discomfort.
Your requirements for a hobby room would be more simple, but functional, and would take exact requirement in being a room meant for a specific hobby – be it painting, or carpentry. The lighting should facilitate the functional requirements, and must complement your furniture.

All About Ceilng Lights, How To Chose The Best For Your House
If you are looking for a creative option to illuminate your home or your working place, then ceiling lights would be one of the best options. A ceiling light is a great way to complement the architectural features as well as the interiors of a residential or a commercial area. In addition to being a perfect choice to provide balance lighting to your bedroom or interiors, ceiling lights are also used to accent a particular object and highlight outdoor areas. Perhaps for these reasons, ceiling lights have now become a great option for home lights. However, ceiling lights are not only used for home applications, but also for restaurant, hotel, and other retail applications.
Depending upon your requirements and the area where you are going to install it, different types of ceiling lights are now available in the market, from traditional to most modern types. For example, nothing can outshine such ceiling lighting options as chandeliers in order to provide a terrific look to your dining space and other larger areas with vaulted ceiling. Usually, they suspend from the ceiling by a fetter or a stem, and they come graced in a variety of options including cut crystal as well as beadwork, homemade glass ornaments, and elk horns.
Likewise, for home improvement purposes, flush mount would be one of the best ceiling lighting options. If you are looking for a lighting option for kitchens, workshops, and basements, then fluorescent ceiling lights are the best. There are also ceiling lights exclusively designed to accent your reading area and kitchen island, such as pendant ceiling lights. Some recent additions in trade lighting are ceiling lights including track lights, which are perfect for areas requiring task illumination, and fan kits attached with light fixtures.
But, it is vital that prior to the installation of a ceiling light you should take into consideration some important matters. Foremost is that you should evaluate the purpose of lighting, ie, whether it is to provide ambient lighting to your bedroom or just to highlight a particular item in your house. Another important thing is that you should choose a ceiling light design according to the nature of your room. For instance, simple ceiling fixture would be sufficient for laundry room or store area.
Nowadays, options are endless to shop ceiling lights. Despite any other options including retail outlets and stores exclusively selling a variety of ceiling lights, the internet undoubtedly serves as the best way to shop ceiling lights. Many of the websites come with features including the price as well as the picture of ceiling lights, with details such as in which area they would be most suitable. This in turn enables for convenient shopping online. Some online dealers even provide factory direct discount lighting and that too coupled with 100% money-back guarantee.

A Chandelier's Essence Lies On The Quality Of The Crystals
A chandelier livens up basically on the quality of the crystals used. There are many different varieties of stone used in the various creations you come across. A notable fact is that there are just too many sorts of "crystal" that basically one can find or produce, some are molded while others are cut by machine or hand; and within these are numerous levels of quality
To a certain extent, most of us who are not experts can honestly get a good indication by looking for flaws in the gem stones. If one sees cracks, color inconsistencies, bubbles or imperfections, the degree or extent to which they cause you displeasure and the degree of the visible flaws may be indicative of poor quality.
When it's hung on the ceiling, the flaws however might become invisible, although a low-quality crystal stone-work may not give you the 'dazzle' or striking rainbow-like refractions of beauty that a crystal of the highest quality would. Some people though are happy knowing they’ve got the best crystals in town, whereas some folks would stay contented with the fixtures' simple display of elegance.
Colored Crystals Are Popular These Days
Colored crystal chandeliers have grown rapidly in popularity in just the last couple of years. As a matter of fact, some of the top chandelier makers have released new colored crystal chandelier lines in just the last year or so. Many would ask, why the high demand these days? Colored crystal chandeliers achieve something for homes that a typical crystal chandelier generally couldn't do, which is to give the house a modern look.
A larger number of more brand new, contemporary homes are using colored crystal chandeliers to accentuate their residences and improve its ambiance. If a customer is looking to have an elemental impact in their home with a chandelier, combine your colored crystal chandeliers with other appropriate colors, such as black or white.
If you are trying to create a more glamorous look, combine your crystal chandelier with bolder, more vibrant colors. The rise in the popularity of colored crystal chandeliers recently places these fixtures to be among popular items procured for modern homes.
Tips In Choosing Appropriate
Currently, there are tons of contemporary chandelier styles out there that may go well with your own tastes or preferences, however if one is unsure about what direction to go in, it may be best to stick to more traditional crystal chandelier looks that have generally been time-tested. There is nothing more disgusting than spending a lot of money for something that may go out of style in just a short span of time.

Crystal Chandeliers 101: Is Bigger Always Better?
Elegant and ornate mounted lighting fixtures are not just there to simply add light to a room; these fixtures are more like works of art, which bring both radiance, beauty and personality into your home.
However, unlike lamps that one can easily move around, crystal chandeliers are more of semi-permanent structures, therefore proper placement is necessary for them to work efficiently and look good. Consider scale too. A very small lighting fixture will look lost, while one that's too large will overpower a room. You'll probably hire an electrician to do the work, so you want to avoid this costly mistake
How A Chandelier Should Hang In Your Room
For a dining room, a crystal chandelier should hang above the center of your table. If the electrical connection in your ceiling doesn't coincide with your table's center, add a durable decorative hook in the ceiling above the center of your table, and then attach a length of chain to carry the wiring from the electrical connection to the hook.
As a rule, for 8- to 9-foot ceilings, the bottom of your chandelier should be between 30 and 33 inches above the tabletop. Crystal chandeliers for other rooms should be placed higher than 8 feet above the floor in the middle of the room or foyer
Appropriate Locations For Chandeliers
Because lighting pieces like chandeliers make beautiful home decor fixtures, however small or large they seem. With its warm dimmed light however, they may not be fitting for rooms like libraries, where good lighting is a prerequisite.
Chandeliers are more fit for dining rooms, living rooms, foyers, and other places where people go to converse, relax and enjoy each others company. If you have a chandelier in a room, make sure that there is a primary light source to complement the subdued light emanating from the chandelier.
How To Make A Chandelier Blend With The Room’s Existing Furnishings
Purchasing crystal chandeliers makes for a unique investment and a worthy furnishing to view and gawk at. In order to steer clear from too much glare, you could try buying a crystal chandelier that is equipped with mini-shades. If the fixture doesn't have one, try adding tiny shades to bare candle-type lighting. Since a chandelier is a decorative room fixture and not functional lighting equipment, do allow other lighting in the room to supplement its dimmed glow.
Choose a crystal chandelier that will complement and perfectly blend well with a room's ambience, style and color patterns. It also has to enhance the existing furnishing that's present in the room. However, if an elaborate and ornate chandelier would stick out in the room, consider something that looks more reserved so that the lighting fixture can be appreciated more for its beauty and radiating glow.
At present, there are lots of chandelier styles available out there that may go well with your own unique style, however if you're unsure about what direction to go in, it may be good to stick with more traditional looks that have been time-tested.
There is nothing worse than spending a lot of money for something that may go out of style in the next few years. These products can come in lots of different colors that could easily look outdated rather quickly. Therefore, another way to keep updating your chandeliers is to buy temporary and replaceable colored shades for the bulbs.

What Size Of Crystal Chandelier Should You Get?
For consumers of elegant lighting fixtures and equipment, the entire realm of interior lighting as we find out, offers no expression of the form that is seen as more provocative than that of a crystal chandelier.
Whenever these classic lighting pieces hang above the heads of the occupants of any room, they possesses the mysterious element to draw attention from all points in the room. The wonderful display radiated by the glass twisting light into colors compels its viewers to arch their heads in awe, as they gawk at the radiance emitted by the hanging crystals.
Chandeliers Add Glow To Your Room's Furnishings
Chandeliers generally serve as the focal point of a dining room, living room or large ballroom. When suspended over the ceilings of these rooms, it serves as an important decorative element that enhances the beauty of your other fine furnishings. When the light is dimmed, a soft, glowing atmosphere similar to candlelight is perfectly created. If the lighting fixture is equipped with a downlight, the chandelier provides task lighting for the table and accent lighting for a centerpiece.
Siza And Space Are Major Factors To Consider
Size is major factor to consider when installing the appropriate chandelier.
Hoemowners have to consider the space where they want to put the fixture in. If the room's space is large, then you can put a large crystal chandelier on the room. However, if put a small one, it will just look inconsequential. If the room space is small, you need to put a small crystal chandelier, because if you install a really large crystal chandelier in a small space, then it will make the room look so crowded.
Whenever you want to put a crystal chandelier in your home, you have to decide the exact room where you want to install your lighting piece. You need to know that each room, depending on its size, requires the appropriate lighting fixture that complements the size and ambiance of the room.
Room Dimensions Matter
When choosing the appropriate crystal chandelier for your room, take note that numbers play a important role in deciding which fixture to install. Here are some standard measurement rules to help you decide on what chandelier is the right one for your room:
- A chandelier should hang about 30" from the surface of the table to insure no bumped heads and good illumination.
- A chandelier should be about 12" narrower than the width of the table over which it hangs.
- Total bulb wattage should be between 200 to 400 to provide sufficient light.
- If the room is smaller than 10' by 10', a 17" to 20" diameter chandelier would be the correct size.
- If the room is around 12' x 12', a 26" or 27" chandelier would look appropriate.
- If the room is around 14' x 14', select a 24" to 36" chandelier.
If you've selected the dining room to hang this lighting feature, and if the room is not too large, you will no doubt be hanging the chandelier above the table in full view of all who will be gathering there. If it is a cozy size from with a cozy sized table, you will want to get an appropriately-sized chandelier for the setting.
If the ceiling is low then you need to hang it high enough to allow 30 or preferably 36 inches of space above the tabletop. That way it's close enough to see with plenty of space to avoid banging into it. Because you and your guests will be so near to it, it's important that the finish, the structure and framework of the chandelier, is of good quality.
Whenever you're concerned with appearances and impressions you convey, then that will be the determining factor in the quality of crystal you need to get. There are some very beautiful chandeliers of that are small to moderate in size, that not only stand up to scrutiny but are a real delight to behold as well.

Buying Antiques For Your Home – Part Two
It is wise to buy yourself a notebook, subscribe to an antique magazine, and find out where to find good antiques at a good price. Look in the attics and basements of friends and family, try yard sales, and visit general antique and deceased estate auctions as possible to see how quickly you can begin building your antique collection.
If you are fortunate enough to have lots to spend, you may choose to locate items in ‘mint’ condition. However, it is always best to research before you buy. In any case, try to learn as much as you can about the certain type of collectible or antique: where it comes from, the style or era, the maker, artist or designer.
Find out the makers ‘stamps’ and always check the items you wish to purchase to see that the manufacturers mark is visible. You can find out these marks and signatures in the many books and magazines available to collectors. Whether it is silverware, ceramic dolls, antique clothing, furniture or paintings, the more you know about the items you choose to collect the better you will be able to judge its value.
Don’t rush in to buy an item. You will find that most antiques and collectibles have a price and if you are the only bidder then you shall have the piece. When you are next online and searching for good antique shops and markets, log on to art-search.com.au. You will find that they have antique vendors in Victoria and around Australia. OzFreeOnline.com has a classified section that has many online classified ads for antiques and collectibles, with comprehensive information available Australia-wide.
If you want to collect antique lights and chandeliers, consider it well as you will find that some pieces cost much less than you may expect. Missing crystals can be replaced, and examine the structure of the piece. You may even be able to use the pieces in your home and have your beautiful collectibles on show for everyone to see. A timeless well kept antique is difficult to find so you really need to know what to look for.

Decorating A Tuscany Style Kitchen -- Get That Relaxed Mediterranean Vibe
Bring a touch of rustic romance, and the relaxed Mediterranean feel, into your home. Create a mood of wholesome and hearty family meals, the enticing smell of olives, wine, and fresh, crusty bread. Feel the beauty of the Tuscan landscape all around you, as you recreate a Tuscany style kitchen, in your own home.
To really get the look right, you’ve got to choose the right colors -- warm, earthy colors are ideal for Tuscan kitchen decorating. They will give a perfect rustic feel to your kitchen. Try golden yellows, terracotta and burnt orange. Then add a little burgundy, olive green or Mediterranean sea-blues. Always go for a muted tone, and never pick a vibrant or pastel tone, to make sure you get the look right. Use textured paints, rough plastering or faux-paint finishes on the walls, to get that genuine, weathered, rustic look.
Use natural materials wherever possible in your Tuscan style kitchen. Stone, slate, granite, marble and limestone are all great choices for counter-tops and flooring. Wood is also a very good choice. Make sure your wood is solid, chunky looking, and slightly distressed -- no pristine finishes here, please.
Why not try getting creative with some mosaics and colored tiles on counter-tops, table tops, splash backs and flooring. Remember to stick to those traditional Tuscan colors though.
A great idea for a splash back, if you don’t fancy the mosaic thing, is to incorporate a Tuscan landscape or painting into your splash back design. This will really set the scene to play out in Tuscany for you. Choose village landscapes, rural idylls, vineyards and farmhouses, to get a really authentic look.
Choose rustic looking, and old-fashioned furniture -- the more distressed, the better. So look out for some great second hand bargains.
Add plenty of wrought-iron work into your scheme. Look out for chairs and tables with wrought-iron detailing, also chandeliers, candelabras, wall sconces, wine racks and plant stands.
Accessorize your Tuscan style kitchen with rustic pottery bowls. pitchers, bottles and jars. Add decorative display bottles, containing peppers, olives, oranges and lemons. Hang strings of garlic, and bunches of herbs from the ceiling to dry, for that truly authentic touch.
Tastefully add a few, carefully executed, stencils, with grapes and grapevines as their theme, to bring to mind the Tuscan landscape, and a relaxed holiday glass of wine.
Make sure you sit back and relax, admire and enjoy your Tuscany style kitchen, with a meal of simple Tuscan fare, and a well-earned glass of soothing wine.

3 Essentials - Acessories For The Party Goer
What do you wear to a party?
Other than your party dress.
If you have new clothes for Christmas, it would be even better.
Even the most stunning outfit would look all the more gorgeous with the right accessories.
Accessories can turn an ordinary everyday outfit into something that is totally party ready. Add on a pair of ultra glamorous chandelier earrings, a pair of sexy high heels, put your hair up and do your makeup and you are ready to party the night away.
Actually, you might just be able to get away with last year's dresses with some smart accessories. Pick the really basic dresses. In a single color or in animal prints. These are the outfits that are still in style year after year. Then invest in a few great accessories to update your look.
All you need are these 3 basic items:
1. A stunning pair of shoes.
Make that 5 new pairs of party shoes. Especially if you intend to dance the night away, one night after another. The 12 dancing princesses come to mind.
Start with a pair of sleek black shoes that would go with everything.
If the weather permits a strappy pair of metallic stilettos are sexy party shoes. Remember to paint your toe nails or have them done professionally so that you can show off your gorgeous new pedicure.
A pair of satin pumps in a color that matches your favourite party dress would have you looking like a princess. Better yet. Jewelled shoes that are all out glamorous.
If you want an edgier look, nothing beats a pair of black boots, with high heels of course.
If you intend to dress to kill, high heel shoes, as high as you can take, are perfect. For one thing, such shoes give you a sexier gait when you walk. On top of that, high heel shoes make your legs look a mile long.
2. One absolutely gorgeous belt of the season.
On second thought, make that three new belts. In different colors. In different styles. Ideally, all should be wide belts with absolutely stunning buckles.
Go for dark belts as these would make you look slimmer.
Why belts?
This season, the hourglass look is hot. You can update last season's dress, or even last year's dress, by cinching the waist with a stunning new belt. That would create this season's hottest silhouette.
3. Stunning earrings.
Of all jewels, earrings are the ones that would create the most impact. These are worn closest to your face. Sparkling gems worn as earrings would light up your face beautifully.
Long earrings would highlight your neck, making you look sexier.
Chandelier earrings can transform the look of a basic dress, from plain, to elegantly sexy. A party goer needs at least one pair of stunnning chandeliers.
Drop earrings are great if you want to look elegant, but one something a little more subtle than chandeliers. Some dresses look better with drop earrings while others look better with chandeliers.
Sure, real diamonds, rubies and sapphires make a girl feel like a queen but what if you lose an earring while you party?

Fashion Jewelry - What's Hot And What's Not This Year
You can come across the most stimulating designs and trends in jewelry in Europe. The unique and striking pieces of jewelry can be found in places like Greece, Italy, Spain or even Germany.
It is interesting to get into tiny goldsmith shops in foreign lands and see what all they have to offer. Goldsmiths from foreign countries exchange knowledge with one another. If you can get to the "mother lode" in Germany, you would be able to get your hands on the latest fashion trends and designs in gold and diamonds. Also, you would be able to come across amazing designs in silver and colored stones and colored gems.
You must have seen observed that the prices of precious metal such as platinum and gold have hit the highest point quite recently and Euro-silver jewelry is crafted in a better manner as compared to a majority of Mexican silver jewelry. It does not just last longer, but it is also available at a great price for all the people who are very conscious about the price of the jewelry.
The hottest fashion that is at present all round the global is the look of long earrings or chandeliers. The yester-years shoulder length earrings have come back into fashion and are available in the market. It does not matter if it is silver or gold, ancient or even the most recent design, everything is in vogue now.
Jewelry that contains diamonds or is without any diamonds or colored-stones creates an individual style statement. Two tone gold pieces i.e. yellow and white gold mixtures are extremely popular in Marco. The hottest trend at present includes pendants, bracelets, slides for omegas, and anklets. Blending in various colors of gold in this day and age is very trendy.
However, in the previous years this kind of combination was thought to be quite tacky. Platinum along with 18 karat yellow gold is fiery hot and can send your bank account up in flames. Platinum has hit its all time highest point at an average of $770 per ounce!
As a matter of fact at present long chains are not at all hot. Turquoise used to be extremely hot a year back, however, at present it is not. Plain colored stone rings are being sold once more. Tennis bracelets are as sturdy as ever. Besides, the three stone diamond pendants would be the flavor of the season yet another time in the approaching holidays. You would be surprised to know that the yester year fashion of gold coin jewelry has come into vogue again.
Trends change with the changing times, however excellent quality jewelry holds goods through the trial of time. Even though a trendy jewelry fashion goes away for a phase, it in no way falls short of returning once again, and when it does, you would already have a piece of jewelry that is in vogue. A lot of jewelry fashion begins within the elite and glamorous circuit. Keeping an eye on the jewelry that celebrities flaunt allows you to stay in touch with the hottest and latest fashion.

Key West Florida
Key West FL is the southernmost city in the Continental United States. Key West is a city and an island by the same name near the southernmost tip of the Florida Keys and encompasses the namesake island, the part of Stock Island north of US 1, Sigsbee Park and Sunset Key.
Many passenger cruise ships utilize Key West as a seaport. Key West International Airport also serves the area. Naval Air Station Key West offers a training site for Naval Aviation.
sive to restore the railroad. In 1938 The Federal Government rebuilt the rail lines as an automobile highway. Completed in 1938 it became an extension of the US Highway 1. The portion of US 1 running though the Keys is called the Overseas Highway.
Numerous artists and writers have come to the Keys but the two most associated with the island are Ernest Hemmingway and Tennessee Williams. Hemmingway reportedly wrote 2 novels "A Farewell to Arms" and "To Have and Have Not" while living in the Keys. The Ernest Hemingway House and Sloppy Joes Bar have become important tourist's attractions. The Hemingway House is currently inhabited by six or seven toed polydactyl cats descended form Hemingway's original pert named "Snowball". The cats live on the grounds and are cared for by the Hemingway House even though the USDA complains about the number of them housed there. The Key West City Commission exempted the house from a law prohibiting more than four domestic animals per household.
Tennessee Williams is said to have written the first draft of "A Streetcar Named Desire" while staying at the La Concha Hotel. He bought a permanent house and listed Key West as his permanent residence. Williams' home in the "unfashionable" New Town neighborhood is quite the contrast to the elegant Hemingway house. It is a very modest bungalow. The house is privately owned and is not open to the public. The Tenn4essee Williams Theatre is located on the campus of Florida Keys Community College on Stock Island.
Key West is much closer to Havana than to Miami. In 1890 it had a population of nearly 18,800 which made it the richest and biggest city in Florida. The population was nearly half Cuban descent and the city had a succession of Cuban mayors. Cubans were reportedly active in nearly 200 factories in town producing cigars.
The Battleship Maine was blown up after sailing from Key West to Havana which ignited the Spanish American War.
Pan American Airlines was founded in Key West to fly visitors to Havana.
John Kennedy used the phrase "90 miles to Cuba" in his speeches against Fidel Castro.
There were regular ferry and airplane services between Key West and Havana until the revelation in 1959. Refugees flooded into Key West during the Mariel Boatlift and continue to come across the dangerous stretch of waters.
In 1982 Key West and the rest of the Keys tried to declare independence and become the "Conch Republic" in a protest over US Border Patrol blockades. The blockade was set up in response to the Mariel Boatlift. This blockade created a 17 mile traffic jam when the Border Patrol stopped every car to search for illegal immigrants. The Florida Keys were virtually paralyzed as tourism nearly ground to a halt. Couch Republic flags and T shirts are still popular souvenirs for visitors. The Counch Republic Independence Celebration is celebrated each April 23.
Key West was always an important military post. At the beginning of World War II the Navy built the first water line extending the length of the Keys to serve the Naval Air Station. The main facility on Boca Chica is where the navy trains pilots. There are 3400 civilians and 16oo active duty military personnel along with family members. The area next to the old For Taylor became a submarine pen and was used for the Fleet Sonar School.
